Biographical history
John S. Neary (1863-1935) was appointed to the New Jersey State Normal School in 1898 as “steward,” later business manager, where he worked for over 32 years retiring in 1930. He also founded the Camera Club (also known as the Normal Photographic Arts Club) for students in 1919. Some of his photographs appear in The Signal.

This ad hoc folder collects several photographs from Trentoniana's photo collection, which is not considered part of the Normal and Model Schools materials. It comprises assorted pictures of the original school buildings on Clinton Avenue, as well as a 1919 Victory Day parade with Normal School students.
